Xzennis Brereton's Biography

Xzennis is an Oakwood Collegiate Institute alumni, who played 4 years on their varsity team winning 2 city championships, and AAAA offsaa. 


After high school, Xzennis continued his basketball journey playing for Mohawk College for 2 Seasons and a half in Hamilton before graduating in 2015 with a degree in Architectural Technology. 


After graduation, he then later secured a roster spot on the Canadian Basketball League in the 2016/2017 season ran by an ex NBA Coach named Butch Carter. 


After the season, he later coached AAU with project excellence, participating in the adidas gauntlet Gold / Silver series where he had the opportunity to develop mentoring/ coaching skills with the U14-U17 boys. 


Xzennis then received a contract to play in El Salvador for the 2018-2019 season where he averaged 21.3 ppg 11.2rpg leading his team to the playoffs while receiving all-star honours participating in the dunk off and all-star game. 


During the 2019/2020 season, Xzennis later became the junior/senior assistant coach for Holy Cross Prep/Project excellence in their opening season, whilst being their media / content director. During their season Brereton performed mentoring, and training to develop kids aspiring to reach the next level of being a student-athlete.
