ACADEMICS 1ST!

Academic Resources

Legacy Prep

Provides our student-athletes with the academic resources to best prepare them for the academic rigours that they will face as college students. Direct support from the schools, HPA program additionally, students receive individualized instruction, guidance, and monitoring to ensure progress. We offer ongoing support to develop academic skills and strategies through one-on-one assistance that targets and resolves learning issues.

Many Legacy Prep students dedicate specific time each school day for extra help on homework, exam prep, and executive functioning skills (planning and prioritizing, organization and time management). Parents, coaches, and mentors of students enrolled with us receive biweekly updates about each student's academic progress.

All of our student-athletes are required to attend study hall on a daily basis. All of our student-athletes are also mandated to take SAT/ACT Prep courses beginning the spring semester of their sophomore year. The course provides critical strategies, test-taking tips, topic-specific lessons and online prep courses.

College Planning

Legacy Prep is strong-held in their belief that preparation builds self-confidence and that self-confidence correlates directly with success. We support each of our student-athletes during their college search and application process by communicating with students, families and advisers and coordinating meetings with college admissions staff. Legacy Prep teachers and staff pride themselves on educating and mentoring all of their students, and their students' family, about college exam preparation, athletic recruiting and NCAA compliance. We also provide ongoing resources such as visits, and college fairs, as well as placing an emphasis on college planning early on in our student's high school career.  This will ensure that they develop a personalized road map that sets realistic, but challenging, goals for their future.

Legacy Prep is strong-held in our belief of working together to educate each student, family, coach, and staff member with the nuances of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) eligibility requirements.  The NCAA is made up of college and university member institutions that develop and implement rules and regulations to determine participation and protect fairness in every sport. Legacy Prep staff offers educational workshops, monitors academic certification, tracks recruitment activities, and oversees amateurism issues. This gives students, parents and college coaches full confidence that a Legacy Prep graduate will have a complete understanding of the rules in place that govern their eligibility to play at the next level.
