Community Service

Legacy Prep requires student-athletes to take part in monthly community service projects in addition to Legacy Prep, community service requirements, working with charity and community organizations, as well as schools and hospitals. Some projects are short term, while others continue throughout the school year. For example, bi-weekly sports clinics for the local youth are put on by the Legacy staff, with the help of Legacy student-athletes. Other student-athletes, volunteer to help with setting up, providing course guidance and cleaning up for community fundraising events. Among the numerous student efforts are:

  • Collecting food for the local food bank and clothing for the needy

  • Visit nursing homes

  • Players will raise funds for cancer and other disease research etc

  • Help out with local elementary sport programs

  • Supporting youth in sports through a variety of projects

  • Volunteer with the Special Olympics

  • Team to run in a cancer fundraising 5k marathon each year

  • Be a reading buddy for a student in elementary school classes
