Michael Gryschuk's Biography

Name: Michael Jordan Gryschuk

Age: 25 years old

Position: Pitcher, Infield, Outfield

Education: York University Honours Biology BSc Candidate

My baseball career started with the Vaughan Vikings in 1999 and lasted until 2008, when I played in the Pewee National Championship. After playing with the Vikings, I joined the Bolton Braves, followed by the Thornhill Reds and Leaside Leafs for a couple years each before returning where it all started on the Vaughan Vikings in 2016. My rep career consisted mostly of Tier 1 AAA-calibre ball. I also played for the Holy Cross Hawks and York University Lions as a starting pitcher, infielder and outfielder.

Baseball has always been a fixture in my life. I had the pleasure of coaching my little brother’s baseball teams as he grew up, as well as helping coach the Holy Cross Hawks, for multiple seasons, after graduating in 2013.

I approach coaching from a player’s perspective and I’m a firm believer that friendly competition within a team is essential to success, and it helps to mould the team into a synergistic group.

"Every day is a new opportunity. You can build on yesterday’s success or put its failures behind and start over again. That’s the way life is, with a new game every day, and that’s the way baseball is." ~Bob Feller
